Hi, please test this version and let me know if it solves your problem.
I rewrote the preview rendering code, should be cleaner (safer also) now.

@alfkil:
may i ask what you need compositing to alpha8 bitmap for?
i think i may have a solution for your problem, but then i need to understand what you're trying to achieve.

Re: Would digg this fanless fan on X1000
Thread revisited.
With the code shared recently by Thomas Frieden, i've revisited this thread to see if cooling went to a better level, both in noise and temperature.Guess what? it doesn't.

Re: Would digg this fanless fan on X1000
I have a 3 speed exhaust fan that makes the most noise if set on high, so I set that on low speed. I pulled the cpu fan to get the make & number to look up the specs. Its a muticomp MC19624 12v Fan, 19CFM, 28dBA noise. The high air flow explaines the noise level. You can put a quieter fan in, but ...

Finally found what could be the solution for the CPU Fan noise:

And my own choice of fan, there might be others with better noise/airflow but got this one because of ...

Re: Gadget bug reintroduced in Update 4
Ok, finally managed to reproduce the issue and isolate it.
First of all try to lower the values below 3 from GUI prefs as shown in this screenshot:

That will fix it until new update fixes it.
As it seems, the spacing rendering covers part of the gadgets ...

Re: Gadget bug reintroduced in Update 4
Someone Rang? :)
First of all, the gadget you see badly rendered is not getfile.gadget, but chooser.gadget.
I can't reproduce it here on my machine (besides the X1000 came with Update 5 and can't downgrade).
I would suggest to try it with either update, but using the included official theme, and ...
