Re: New kernels

Hi All,

The merge window is over. Linus Torvalds has released the RC1 of kernel 7.1 for testing.

I compiled it for X1000 and e5500 machines (X5000/20, X5000/40, Mirari, and QEMU VMs) yesterday.

Download and further information: github.com

Image

Please test the kernels.

Thanks,
Christian

Re: New kernels

So I've been testing kernels in the background. I had an issue with the series 7.0 RC6 as it was sluggish. But the final 7.0 was fine.

I've been slowly going through the 7.1 alphas and reaching the RC builds which have been working well.

I tested the 6.12.84 on my Xenial but noticed a complaint from the sound driver listed below. I also tried to test the sounds from the Sound Preferences but the hardware doesn't show up. By comparison kernel 7.1.0-a3 under MATE works fine.
