[BUG] ClickTab.gadget TNA_Image not working

Post by chris »

Does this work? I've set TNA_Image to both a label.image and a bitmap.image object on a clicktab node, and it just ignores it and shows TNA_Text (if specified) or nothing. I've tried the same thing on both OS4.1FE update 3 and OS3.2.3, and it doesn't appear to work on either.

I'm guessing this has never been implemented and nobody has noticed? Or I'm doing something wrong (not sure what I can mess up here, so if there is a working example I'd like to see it).

@chris

Could it be, that TNA_Image and TNA_Text are mutually exclusive, with a preference for TNA_Text?

At least this is the case with listbrowser.gadget where there is a remark with tag LBNCA_Text about its mutatual exclusiveness with LBCNA_Integer, LBNCA_Image and LBNCA_RenderHook.

I did try just TNA_Image first, before trying both together.

My most recent thought is that maybe it only supports basic Images, not BOOPSI images, but that would be a bit weird given it's part of a BOOPSI class set.

@chris

During the day I gave it a shot and modified one of the entries in SDK-Examples/GUI/ClickTab.

Found that 'CloseTest' applies an image for a tab's closebutton and THAT one seems to work, but using TNA_Image with the same image does not show anything, so it seems you've found an error indeed. I'm sorry i can't help you anyfurther here.

No problem, thanks for confirming! Looks like we need somebody from the OS team to weigh in/fix.

I've asked on the beta mailing list, hopefully someone knows more.

TNA_Image seems to be currently unimplemented. The tag is set but the class doesn't do anything with it, apparently.

If that's the case the documentation needs updating at the very least.
