The new SeaLion 33.9.0.1 crashes on MintPPC32 when visiting certain websites for example heise.de. The reason for this is MintPPC32's libavcodec.so.61.19.101. I have figured it out with gdb.

Error message:

Code: Select all

Illegal instruction
On Void PPC works the libavcodec.so.58 with the new SeaLion 33.9.0.1 without any problems.

Workaround on MintPPC32:

about:config - search media - set media.ffmpeg.enabled to false

After the workaround, SeaLion 33.9.0.1 works without any problems on MintPPC32.

Hi All,

Wicknix has released the version 33.9.1 of SeaLion. :-)

I compiled it for Linux PowerPC 32-bit without AltiVec and for Linux PPC64 with AltiVec today.

Download and further information: github.com

@mintppc
Please add them to the MintPPC repositories.

Have a nice weekend! :-)
