Speaking of fixes, is there already a fix for the 'sticky menu' bug of QT applications? It has been around a (too) long time... It can be seen e.g. with VLC and with Musescore. With VLC it is inconvenient but bearable, but IMO Musescore is practically useless due to it because you need to move between different menus all the time. I had to go back to the my ancient MintPPC installation due to that!

Here is caseycullen's description how the bug is seen:

QT applications have a "sticky menu" bug, where if you open a menu and try to switch to another menu without closing the open menu first, the open menu will sometimes "stick", meaning it will stay open and prevent other menus from opening. Is this what you're referring to? If so, pressing the Esc key will close the stuck menu. Another workaround is to close the open menu before switching to another one.

I suppose it is already known, but I do not know what exactly causes it. Maybe Christian knows more details as I think he was the first who mentioned it on this forum...?

But can you please check whether this issue has been already reported? As it is present also in Fienix, it must be originating from Debian itself.

Does it only happen in VLC? Or are there other programs with the same problem. I need to know if it’s specific to VLC or if it’s something else.

Edit: I am going to try to build a vlc with —enable-gtk as configuration option. I have seen that old versions had an option to force gtk as window style:

That might solve the problem, as it relates to Qt.

Yes, it is a QT issue. Great idea to compile it with GTK.
Unfortunately I have a lot to do with the 6.18 kernels and can’t help.

As said, also Musescore has the same issue.
