Testing the 6.12 RC4 now. Working well and is stable. All boot messages gave an OK with no errors I could see which is good.

Hi All,

I released the stable longterm kernel 5.10.228 today.

New:
Download: github.com

Alternative download link: linux-image-5.10.228-X1000_X5000.tar.gz (xenosoft.de)

This kernel has been patched with the dpaa-v2.patch because of an issue with DPAA on Ubuntu 16.04.

It's suitable for old Linux distributions which don't work with the latest kernels for example Ubuntu 10.04.
It's also suitable if you have some issues with the latest kernels.

@Roland
Could you please test this kernel? I hope it works for you.

@All
Please test it.

Thanks,

Okay testing now. Kernels boots ok but does complain it's missing modules.dep for some things. However in use the system is sluggish and almost unbearably slow. In particular there are delays when trying to type this. According to top Xorg is using 99% CPU for some reason.

Thanks a lot for testing.

Could you please post the access rights of the modules.dep?

Code: Select all

ls -l /lib/modules/5.10.228-powerpc64-smp/modules.dep
I don’t know why Xorg uses 99% of the CPU.

In my point of view you use the fbdev driver and not the radeon driver because of your graphics card.
