Sound works fine
lan works fine
I wonder, is it installable by the installers at the desktop?
Fantastic!!!! It would be really nice if you can try out the installers. Do you have another hard disk in your X1000? I recommend to install ubuntu MATE on a seperate hard disk.
An ubuntu MATE 16.04.1 LTS live USB img is available for the AmigaOne X5000. It has also the alternative installer script. Please contact the users on the X5000 mailing list to get the live USB img for the X5000.
Had to give up on the installation. It started okay (or so I thought) and then it became extremely slow when it reached the Libreoffice files. It seemed to go on forever so I had to stop it.

Hello Christian,
i tried the live DVD version 3 two days ago and booted at the first time: no problems at all (WOW WOW WOW , i was very happy).
BUT
today i can boot anymore, it stops to the following message:
"booting Linux via __start() ..."
Same hardware configuration, same commands.
What could be the problem?
Did you use OS4.1 before? Thank you for testing.
I tried both cases: with using OS4.1 before and without using OS4.1 before. Same behaviour.
I think it's a problem with my DVD sata drive and Nemo board.
I copied the "powerpc64" directory from live DVD to the CompactFlash and booted successfully from there.
So it seems that Linux and OS4.1 can read from DVD but initrd and vmlinux can not be loaded easily.

Hi AlfredOne,
Good to know. Many thanks for testing!
Have a lot of fun with the live DVD. Would you like to install it?
