I agree with you.
Where can I find Octamed ? i would like to try under FE.
Thx
You're welcome

You can google OctaMED SoundStudio V1.0.3c or even download the Amiga version directly from either
http://www.medsoundstudio.com or Aminet.
However, because of certain changes in AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition, the old version doesn't work well in FE. It did however in AmigaOS 4.1 Update 6. Also, seek out TheMaestrix AHI tool at Aminet also, which fools your sound system to think it's using a ProMaestrix 16 bit audio card. This is a commodity, and you place it to run under WBStartup.
OMSS (shortcut of OctaMED SoundStudio V1.0.3c) will most likely cause AmigaOS 4.1 Final to freeze after some few minutes. That's because of the new features of AmigaOS 4.1 Final. While we do appreciate the new features a great welcome, they cause issues when running older programs and tools, which youself have experienced.
The problem with older programs and tools are that many of these are yet to be updated and we have to use what we can get here and now while waiting. While they worked nicely under AmigaOS 4.1 Update 6, they should manage to work nicely as well under AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition. I'm sure most agree on that. Many of these old programs and tools brought the Amiga where it is today. It wouldn't make any worthful sense not to be able to run these programs. Backward compatibility has always been one of Amiga's strongest sides. It should continue to be so. It wouldn't be much of an Amiga otherwise...
Interesting enough and it really proves the problem lies in AmigaOS 4.1 Final: I tested OctaMED SoundStudio V1.0.3c again, running the program directly. It opens in own screen, using the same WB screenmode and it all runs fine when you stay in that program, for more than 5 minutes if you are lucky. It is when you quit the program to go back to WB under AmigaOS 4.1 Final the problem occour. When trying to click any icon in WB to run a task or program, it doesn't react and then the OS freezes. Very odd, but the new unified graphic system can explain being the issue, as another user pointed out in another threat about AmigaOS 4.1 Final Bugs. OctaMED SoundStudio V1.0.3c was never a problem under AmigaOS 4.1 Update 6. In AmigaOS 4.1 Final, it appears to be. The problem is therefore not related to the music tracker, but the OS itself.
@Raziel
Never said it was my decision. I made an important point to make you realize where your own place is. This conversation is pointless and insulting. It's not all about you. You will read that there are several having different issues with AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition. There is nothing more to say about that. This is NOT a war zone. It's a forum where support is given. It's pretty simple as that. Besides, the reflection was of YOU, not me. Nobody else than yourself is laughing. You are the only one whom seem to agree with your own statement. Nobody else. This conversation ends here. This is a support forum and nothing else.
I will suggest you to see many different threats about different bugs and problems in AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition, to give you a clear picture of the situation. Then you will realize what i have said, wasn't as stupid and pointless as you think it is...
