the not-selected icons are shown as "inactive" icons AFAIK.
so the behaiour is intended.
How can you tell when the progress icons appear so fast?
The deactivated icons are shown with a small red circle with a diagonal bar overlayed on them (looks a bit like a No parking sign).
I haven't compared this behavior to OS 4.1u6, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't behave like that.. it only shows the icons of programs that actually get started...
Not true, it has/had the same symbols overlayed.
I'll find out that tonight and will report back.
Okay, go ahead
Best regards,
Niels
Hi Niels,
Hmmm.. ok.. well, it looks like my mind is playing tricks on me then .. thanks for your reply.
Hi Niels, yep.. it works exactly as you said... my bad.. anyway... the icons show so fast that you can barely see the difference between the ones that are loaded and the ones that don't, perhaps a time configurable fade effect would be nice...
I agree about the speed - I had to start one of my A1s to see it at all, as my monitor on the X1000 isn't done re-syncing to my WB resolution until after the WBStartup has run .
Then again, people usually struggle to cut the odd second or two off their boot times, don't they?
Dragster wrote:Right hehe.. but the idea is to delay the fade effect a bit... not exctly by stopping the desktop loading..
I've entered this as an enhancement suggestion in Bugzilla.
Best regards,
Niels
Thank you Niels,
Yep.. an enhancement.. tho I'd rather hope for things to move on to fix the outstanding bugs FE has come with as per documented in several threads now. I' happy with this release, but the bugs are annoying.. hopefully they will sort them out quickly. I'm clicking on that amiupdate button everyday!

That's where a tool such as Bugzilla comes in handy. Once an issue is there, it can be seen, found and prioritized at any time, and is not forgotten, even if more pressing issues are on the table now.
