Re: X1000 sound question
I think I have heard some oddball sounds when launching TubeNet and trying to play a CD. I forget the name if the CD app as I am not home. Sound something app with GUI that plays CDs.

In order to play CDs, you have to use PlayCDDA which is on OS4Depot.amigasociety wrote:I think I have heard some oddball sounds when launching TubeNet and trying to play a CD. I forget the name if the CD app as I am not home. Sound something app with GUI that plays CDs.

And a question for the Mucka-mucks. DEVICE=sb500sata.device(?) What's up with that?
Does it make a difference as far as system use, load, etc. which option is used?
(Don't hold back now......spill the beans.)
PlayCD in the Utilities drawer works just fine IF in it's Icon Information DOSDEV=CDx and USEAHI are active (no parentheses). In order to play CDs, you have to use PlayCDDA which is on OS4Depot.

Re: X1000 sound question
Hi mechanic. I've never had any issues with the X1000 sound. I've updated too - but the sound is as good as it has always been.

Re: X1000 sound question
I also hear a very short, painful "spftt!" when any sound first starts up. This was with DVD, tunenet, and playCD (with parentheses around UseAHI removed). I can't see that looking back over the posts here that any of the advice stops the pop!mechanic wrote:Thank you, Sam

Any other suggestions?

Re: X1000 sound question [SOLVED]
Apologies Mechanic. I haven't used my X1000 for some time - although I had a quick go when the update came out - but just using it most of the afternoon today and there is indeed a sound exactly like ggw says. It only happens on first go with using something like TuneNet. Doesn't seem to happen when using euae though.
Sorry I didn't notice it before. It's not a major issue for me though.
