Hi,

Update on some of the issues earlier reported.

After updating AmiUpdate to version 2.58…

… then manually installing AmiSSL 5.21 (updating AmiSSL via AmiUpdate crashed AmiUpdate)…

… and rebooting…

I was able to install those last two MUI updates on both the X1000 and the Sam460ex.

So now ...

I've been able to update all with AmiUpdate v 2.56 except MUI

when trying the MUI updates on my X1000 and on my Sam460ex (both 4.1 FE U2)... AmiUpdate crashes.

I’ve created another thread for the transparency. That way it would pop easier on Google and people with the same question can find it. You could also move your answer there if you like.

Sorry if this is a newbie question…. In OS 4.1 FE… are windows supposed to have any transparency? If so, how do you enable that transparency? I mean like this

Installing that amissl v4 did the trick.

Just after installing it, AmiUpdate 2.55 was able to correctly download those 6 updates.

It’s :lol: that AmiUpdate need AmiSSL ...

AmigaOS 4.1 FE successfully installed. I just formated the DH0: partition during installation

Manually updated to Update 1 and then to Update 2

Manually updated AmiUpdate to 2.55 because it didn’t prompt to auto update.

There are 6 third party updates that don’t download from www.amiupdate.net ...

While you're waiting for your FE to arrive, you should make a full backup of what you have on your disk, and create a new partition to install FE on.

It cannot update an existing installation, it has to be installed on an empty partition.

Just in case, I have made a backup ...

Those updates don't apply to the older OS version.


I have now made rollback of the 6 updates, installed back AmiUpdate 2.47, ordered a 4.1 FE copy for X1000, and once it arrives I will install it.

AmiUpdate offering those upgrades (certainly the listbrowser.gadget one and I don’t know if ...

Oh, one more thing. Could you try doing a

list listbrowser.gadget

in the SYS:Classes/Gadgets dir? It will show whether for some reason e.g. the R bit has been reset on the new file.
