MUI4-2014 R3 - Opening Demos drawer issue (SOLVED!)

Recently, i have been updating my system to latest MUI4 release R3, released 15th of March 2014. The updated came from AmiUpdate, but AmiUpdate wasn't able to install the update, due to a problem with the script, i guess, but by manually clicking the Install Script in the MUI drawer, it was able to update all MUI contents to the very latest version without problem.

However, there is only ONE problem with this MUI4 R3 2014 release. After updating the whole MUI to latest version, and when trying to open the Demos window in the MUI drawer, the system causes the mouse to lockup and you are not able to do anything, as Demos only managed to open up 2-3 demos icons in that drawer before locking up the whole system.

I suspect a bug in that part. Every other part of MUI works as supposed to. Just not that Demos drawer of MUI. My guess is that most of the demos are old, but they were never a problem with earlier MUI releases, even in the R2 of MUI4, but in R3, opening the Demos drawer in MUI causes a lockup. It's pretty odd.

For now, i found out that the solution was to REMOVE the Demos drawer of MUI, as it is not needed to use MUI at all. Still, i hope this problem can be fixed, or if developers behind MUI find out that this drawer is not needed at all, and would be better suited for developers only.

I would like a debate on this. All help is good help. Just wanted to report the small problem, that's all.

I do not get a lock up, but the drawer opens in a jerky manner and mouse pointer jumps about.

Snoopy out put lists this error

Also, I don't think this is the forum for MUI bug reports. I think they should be discussed on muidev.de

Different experiences with this, i see.

However, a friend of mine at my Facebook AmigaOS group, found the source to the problem AND the solution.

The Problem:

The problem seems to be in the ReadMe.info and the deutch.info in that Demos drawer of MUI. When trying to open the Demos drawer window, it struggles to load the demos icons and causes the mouse to freeze.

The Solution

If both ReadMe.info and deutch.info in the Demos drawer of MUI are deleted, the demos will most likely be loaded as normally.

It's very odd, but that actually seems to be the case.

Yeah, it would be better to take it up at this MUI.dev section. I'm not signed up to that, but if somebody can bring the topic there, it would be nice. But i think we have found the source and the solution to the problem here.

I have now tried to copy the latest Demos drawer from latest MUI in its' drawer, and deleted the ReadMe.info in the Demos drawer in MUI drawer through Dopus.

When opening the Demos window in the MUI drawer, the demos icons appear as supposed to, fully working! Problem solved!
