As feature request, I would like the ability to mark (select) and copy text in an AmigaGuide opened with MultiView.
Maybe there is a way to do it, that I haven't figured out yet how to do. Except if I open the AmigaGuide-file with a texteditor and copy the text that way...

@Marko
Welcome to the club
That reported about 7 or 8 years ago , and from time to time that report come up again and again by different users. I even mark it as "important from users side" and keep repeat and asking about fixing this but its of course a bit annoying when you asking same and same again and again
Imho, that bug really important to fix, as we all use amiga guides all the time everywhere. There through was lately some discussion about, then if i remember right some attempts to deal with it , but still nope. On morphos / aros it works, so it not something which did't works everywhere, just some bugs somewhere in our amigaguide.datatype or amigaguide.library or something.

Re: Ability to copy text in AmigaGuide opened with MultiView
Solution: Replace all systems amigaguide files with HTML. Pretty sure there are already converters for this job.
Re: Ability to copy text in AmigaGuide opened with MultiView
IIRC the old AmigaGuide application did support highlighting.marko wrote:As feature request, I would like the ability to mark (select) and copy text in an AmigaGuide opened with MultiView.

MultiView does allow to copy from AmigaGuide but only the whole page.
Re: Ability to copy text in AmigaGuide opened with MultiView
I do use Next, it has a very good search ability, highlighting all the hits. in its 'own view' of Amigaguides, still allowing to follow the links. You can easily switch to the 'normal amigaguide view' and back
Inspiration for Multiview?
html files are not that easily searchable because you often separate the nodes into multuiple files. Amigaguide is therefor better suited for help, comes with the neede browing buttons as standard ( and though i don't remember wihich apps do use it, it is said to be fully integratabl in the source.

That is one way of doing it. But only going around the problem, 'cause problem with search and pretty unnecessary to open a "heavy" browser just for reading converted AmigaGuide files so you can copy some content/snippet... IMHO

@marko
You have to do this
- Go to the upper line you want to copy
- Have a left mouse click together with the left "Uppercase" key : a highlightedd "J1 " appears
- Go to the lowest line you want to copy
- Now use again lef mouseclick but with right "uppercase" key: a highlightedd "J2 " appears
Now Amiga-V and the text is in clipboard, paste as usual
