shell refresh

Post by Thematic »

With option 'noborder' the shell window does not refresh properly on the right, where all the gadgets are. I use non-opaque resize (and compositing). For example if I reduce the window horizontally by 2 pixels, the previous location of the resize gadget is still shown afterwards, while it is still inside the window proper. I'll do screenshots if this seems elusive.

What version of console.device and con-handler would that be? I expect V53.1 of both?

(Con-handler makes the window and console.device writes text into it. The Shell just sends the text to the console.device for display).

This assumption is correct.

The old con-handler had several "issues" with combinations of window options that did not exist when it was written. That whole area of code has been completely rewritten in the "new" console.

If you would like to send me a copy of your gui.prefs and your Shell.info (with the window settings), I could check that it does not happen in the current console. But I'm afraid that there will not be an updated version of the old console. It would require too much work for no real gain.

You can send me stuff at wyattaw at optusnet com au.
