Hi,
I'm experiencing very unstable system with AmigaOS4 and Sam440ep.
Sometimes I can work for an hour and nothing happen,
often after a few minutes, whatever I am doing, for example using OWB or Emperor or other programs the system crashes, DSI error and
everything stops, the system freezes,
since you are experienced using Amiga can you tell me what could be the most common cause.
I think that doesn't happen to everyone else would be too frustrating.
Thx
SAM440EP AmigaOS4.1 Up5 Unstable (seems SOLVED)

If this happens with a Clean Install then you could look at your Hardware.
Ram, video card,Power supply and airflow and cooling inside your case.
With update 3 some of us had problems with Sam Flex 800Mhz models caused by cooling inside the case.
Putting a rear case fan that blew air over the CPU solved these problems for some.
from the software side try disabling the screenblanker and remove any running programs from the dock if you have any.

I hope you did not install Update 5 juste after Update 2 (without installing 3 and 4).
Anyway, since Update 3, as says Spectre660, AmigaOS 4.1 takes full advantage of the Sam440's DMA possibilities and this can lead to overheating. Try to cool it down to see if this still happens.

Re: SAM440EP AmigaOS4.1 Up5 Unstable
Yes I've updated from 2 to 3 to 4 to 5
The minicase has two fan on the front, not rear near the processor
the PSU is 300W
Memory tests don't fail
I'll try to open the rear panel for air to pass. I don't think this is the problem because sometime happen after two minutes and sometime after two hour.
For example I turn on the systme, launch OWB and system crash, every time I go to this page http://www.paginebianche.it/cerca-da-numero I try to enter the number at top and owb crash and the system too.

I removed the case front panel audio cable that was not connected to anything and rested on the card, it seems to have solved the problem. Strange but real
