Well, it gets stranger

I can, as nbache said, get back to normal if i AND ONLY if i immediately press CTRL-C followed by a q to quit the execution.

Do anything else, type text, go mad
...nothing will help the window, AmigaShell will stay there forever waiting to be closed
BUT
now grab the size gadget and move it around liek crazy...suddenly text will be scrolled inside the Shell window, but ONLY if one keeps resizing the window
