@all
After checking our BZ, there is already another BZ which i update by some info: "allow "right to left" or "bottom to top" docks". Its about that problem when we stick dock to the right side of screen, and all new dockies which added to, jump on next string and shift everything. While will be good to have option to place them not one after another, but before instead.
What else ?

Okay, I checked, and both my points are already covered in existing BZs, created by others. So it's not just me ...kas1e wrote:@nbache
Can you plz recheck your BZs , and if you didn't add those ones which you describe, add them ?

Best regards,
Niels

@Nbache
Thanks !
@All
Another BZ which i want to add is:
title: remember position of dock and do not jump on new position, when content of added docky (rendering content, or icon when no icon scaling in use) bigger than dock itself, and then that docky removed back.
body: when we add any docky which render to the dock any content which is bigger than size of dock in use, or, docky just have icon bigger than the dock itself when no icon scaling is used, then after we add such a dockie, and then remove it, whole dock jump on some new place and do not remember previous place. It is the same and with Snap To: None, and with Snap To: Locked. While will be good to have it jump back in such situations in all the "Snap To:", but at least Locked should respect it for sure. I attach screenshot to show what i mean.
Anyone want to add anything about or rephrase it somehow till i not add it ? (so to make it all cleary understandable for developer who will works on it later)
Thanks !

Added previous BZ as well. With a bit of more info and rephrasing: Its not problem of adding of bigger dockies, but it just a problem when we add and then remove any dockie which just auto-resize dock. There another example which i add to that BZ as well: So seems all our problems covered in BZs now, but if anyone have anything else, update that topic later.

Re: All enhancements/bugs BZs about AmiDock
I got an enhancement request after chatting to another user yesterday.
A more beginner friendly editor would be nice.
It's quite complicated to set and place dockies and docks to where one wants.
I imagine something along the lines of a frame-only dock(y) that can be moved around, resized and placed wherever possible.
Together with a "TEST" button that will help a lot.
Resizing of a dock should be made easier (maybe add resize arrows to the corners and sides of the frame)
Maybe it's possible to add an "Adapt Dock to horizontal/vertical size of Screen" option.
And all other things that will make it easier and faster for beginners
Thank you
EDIT: Oh and of course drag&dropping dockies right into the docks program window would be an awesome addition

Well, then i also have a feature request !
Actually we miss a proper graphical indicator in case you need to drag manually an icon into your dock
While it's not a problem when you need to drag an icon into a blank area of you dock, it might be when you need to drag that icon at the middle of your dock (aka putting this icon between other icons that are already iconified on your dock)
For example in a similar situation the MacOSX's dock panel give you a nice animation effect that will move automatically the 2 adiacent icons letting you know exactly where to place your new icon, unfortunately we miss such nice effect under OS4 (altrough it might be implemented using Cairo and application.library!)
Aniway beside the eye-candy animation, even a simple small arrow that will help you indicate exactly how to release you icon into the dock panel can be enough ..
What do you think ?

I agree. And if additionally the "hot" area of each dock icon could be limited to its shape (i.e. not the surrounding background), it would make it much easier to find the place between two icons where you can drop your new one. Right now, you have to rely on icons' glow effect or similar while dragging the new icon back and forth over the existing ones, until neither of the existing ones are glowing, then you know it's safe to drop it.samo79 wrote:Aniway beside the eye-candy animation, even a simple small arrow that will help you indicate exactly how to release you icon into the dock panel can be enough ..

Agree, i hope that both feature request will be considered for the future version of AmiDock
For now we can only report them with all possible details, hopefully all that request will be collected in a easy-to-read documentation

They are both in Bugzilla now.samo79 wrote:@nbache

Well, as long as we have them here, and we (betatesters) create Bugzilla entries for them along the way, that should be enough, I guess.For now we can only report them with all possible details, hopefully all that request will be collected in a easy-to-read documentation
