To update this thread: I believe it is a known issue that the early startup menu does not show up on RTG anymore with the latest kernels. I am not sure if this was ever resolved. I do not think it was.

Would be nice if somebody could fix this annoying issue, no RTG or any signal from voodoo3 card since update 2 and now in cannot use update 3 too , even if force copied an older kernel file to kickstarts folder. V3 is visible in OS but when trying using natice screenmode (PAL) , but cannot set to use v3 , no signal. Cannot use OS4.1FE update 3, because of this voodoo3 with mediator (tx) detecting issue at all !
