"Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached"

When I try to add attachments files to my messages, I get nowadays always this error message:

"Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached"

What does it mean, and how to correct the situation? Should I dig up my earlier postings with attachments, and try to delete them?!
The user control panel showed I have totally 12 attachments, and they summed up to about 5 MB. Is the max quota really so low...?

It seems like nobody has adapted the limits over time. i am sure the admin will be able to solve this, just address one of the team.

I'm getting this attachment error now. What happens with discarded attachments? When I read that quota message I interpret as a 5MB limit per post so to me it looks misleading. Also, once having posted to a few forums. there would certainly be over 5MB in text and counting. So it certainly seems an unfair restriction to place on content type.
