Re: New kernels
Thanks goodness! I thought the kernel is broken.
Maybe Musa updated his system and there was a faulty package. I saw on his screenshot that he updated his Debian 13 Trixie/Sid yesterday.
You use Debian 12 Bookworm/Sid.
Re: New kernels
Hi
first I booted again debian sid/trixie 64 , but this time with vmlinux-5.11 and no errors .
Then I booted Void with vmlinux-6.14_rc5 and no errors.
I also tried debian trixie/sid 32 with vmlinux-6.14_rc5 and got kernel panic
Debian trixie/sid 32 boots normally with vmlinux-5.11
Have a nice day

Strange. Good to know, that it works with Void PPC.musa wrote: Mon Mar 03, 2025 7:25 pm Hi

I will test it with Fedora 28 PPC64, openSUSE Tumbleweed PPC64 and with Void PPC as soon as possible.
Re: New kernels
My Debian Sid was not upgraded very long time - I checked the cache/apt/archives - newest package is from October 2023.xeno74 wrote: Mon Mar 03, 2025 6:48 pm Maybe Musa updated his system and there was a faulty package. I saw on his screenshot that he updated his Debian 13 Trixie/Sid yesterday.

Later I will try to upgrade to newer version.
Please, did you know which snapshot is good without too many broken packages?
Or I simply will upgrade it to directly to actual unstable and will see.

Re: New kernels
I am sorry I don’t know. I need a stable and reliable distribution for testing kernels.sailorMH wrote: Mon Mar 03, 2025 9:23 pm Please, did you know which snapshot is good without too many broken packages?
Sometimes there are broken packages in Debian and I mistakenly think that the kernel is broken.
Fienix is a good choice because Casey removes broken Debian package versions and uses instead old packages from Debian.
