The good old hardware has a home in our AmigaOnes :-)
  • Creative Sound BLASTER LIVE Player 1024 PCI (EMU10K1 audio processor) sound card
  • Typhoon TView RDS + FM Stereo PCI (BT 878 video decoder chip) TV card (frame grabber)
The new kernel 6.12.6 supports really good the old hardware.

I was able to create a revert patch. With this revert patch, KVM HV works again.

Here is the patched kernel: github.com

You can use the kernel modules from the kernel v6.13.0-rc4.

I also tested KVM PR on my X1000 yesterday. KVM PR isn’t affected.

FYI: I tested the SB Live gameport today with the kernel module emu10k1_gp. But I have issues with this kernel module (kernel panics).

I found out which area is responsible for the KVM HV issue while reducing the revert patch.

If I replace the following line in the file a/arch/powerpc/kvm/e500_mmu_host.c then KVM HV works again.

Code: Select all

-		pfn = __kvm_faultin_pfn(slot, gfn, FOLL_WRITE, NULL, &page);
+		pfn = gfn_to_pfn_memslot(slot, gfn);

Hi All,

I released the RC5-2 of kernel 6.13 with the kvm_hv_final.patch because of the KVM HV issue #4 for the X5000 yesterday.

You can use the kernel modules from the kernel v6.13.0-rc5.

Download and further information: github.com

Alternative download link: linux-image-6.13-rc5-2-X5000.tar.gz

I have found the KVM news for the kernel 6.13. Link: Linux 6.13 KVM Eliminates An "Awful Idea", Many x86_64 Improvements
