Many thanks for testing! We still need the dpaa patch because the kernel developers haven’t fixed the dpaa issue yet.

I don't know what dpaa is (Bing doesn't want to tell me), but could it have anything to do with the fact that when I boot with Kernel 5.8 RC3 instead of 5.5 I get a bunch of

Code: Select all

Ethernet Network ()
disconnected

down the page when I click on the internet up-down arrows?

@kilaueabart

Yes, that's correct. It's the onboard ethernet.

Bing, huh? ;-)

Using another search machine (in this case Google) brought me to this - after a WikiPedia disambiguation page:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_Path ... ure_(DPAA)

Bing might very well have shown me something like that, but in my current mental condition that doesn't tell me anything either. :(

Well, I can't say I understand every aspect of it either, but the gist I got from it is that it's an architecture for some of the contents of the SoC (System on a Chip) which is the heart of the X5000, so in this case it tells us that we're talking about the network controller which is integrated in the chip (as opposed to a separate PCI network card).

Best regards,
