Thanks a lot for your reply. Did you boot Ubuntu 9.04 with our kernel 4.19 on your X1000? The oldest Ubuntu that I ever used on my X1000 was Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS.

Yes I did! Years ago I "hacked" Ubuntu to install on my A1/XE. And it's been solid since. The only Linux install I have that hasn't broken and needed a reinstall. I built the Debian installer on it. It's faster than the latest Debian. Even the browser is still okay if a bit too old for real browsing.

It also includes:

• Initial ramdisks for the X5000 and X1000 (You can boot with a LABEL or UUID)
• Compressed Linux kernel (zImage) for the X1000
• Fienix Linux support
• MATE PowerPC Remix support
• ubuntu MATE 15.04, 15.10, 16.04 LTS, 16.10, and 17.04 support
• Debian Sid support
• Linux kernel icon for OS4.1 by Tommysammy
