Just installed 4.1 on my X1000 and it doesn't boot.
I get 'Not a DOS disk in device DH0 Process: 6 "Initial CLI"
It is a LONG time since I last set up an Amiga therefore I must have done something stupid in MediaToolbox. I have DH0 set as bootable - set to SFS2 - buffers to 2000 and block size to 512. I formatted it before install. 4.1FE seemed to install fine but now I can't boot. Any ideas?

4.1 Final Edition Install problem
Re: 4.1 Final Edition Install problem
Ignore me - works now.
I reinstalled it all again and it works now - not sure what I did wrong. Does it matter what physical order partitions are in in Media Toolbox? I had DH0 after DH1 - only thing I can think of that may have caused an issue.

Re: 4.1 Final Edition Install problem
Glad you got it sorted.
Just in case, There's something about the X1000 that is not like the other machines.
The amiga part of the boot process starts by the computer finding and loading amigaboot.of. If that can't be found then you'll not get far.
Three places I can think of to find it are:
the root of the Compact Flash formatted to FAT32:
The root of the CD/Optical drive.
The very first partition of your drive, formatted to FFS.
Most X1000 owners have a very small partition at the start of the drive, formatted FFS, with amigaboot.of there.
If this was your problem, you might get by with a CDROM in the drive, but later refuse to boot if the CD is not there anymore.
Have Fun!

Re: 4.1 Final Edition Install problem
The device names DH0, DH1, etc are only names and have no other significance. I use SAn, SBn, SCn, etc on different (Seagate) drives, but the partition names are in no particular order.
Don't confuse the device name "DHn" or "SAn" with the Volume name "Work" or "MyPhotos". They are separate labels for the same partitions but at a different level.

Thanks guys
I know the names themselves don't matter but wondered if the actual physical order on the drive mattered - eg in MediaToolbox does it matter if your bootable partition appears before any others?
