I have a problem with DiskImageGUI (from SYS:System drawer). Whenever I try to start it,
I get the following error message:
Error - DiskImageGUI
Image file 'list_checkmark' not found
There is, however, a file with that name present on my SYS: partition:
Sys:Classes/ToolbarImages/Default/list_checkmark (size 350, date 07/07/2012)
So, what might be wrong? I have OS 4.1.6 (and all the updates so far available via AmiUpdate installed), but I have not tried to use 'DIG' before, with earlier OS versions. My system is 'classic', but I thought ask this first here as this might not be a platform specific problem.

Re: Problem with DiskImageGUI
You may need an Assign for TBImages: or copy the list_checkmark file to the TBImages: directory .
Re: Problem with DiskImageGUI
This is really *ancient* - you should have a "tbimages" drawer in SYS:Prefs/Presets. An assign to this directory should point there (usually "assign tbimages: SYS:Prefs/Presets/tbimages"). The latest version of AISS is 4.12.Gregor wrote: Sys:Classes/ToolbarImages/Default/list_checkmark (size 350, date 07/07/2012)

Re: Problem with DiskImageGUI
Thanks!-) It was indeed an assignment problem. "TBImages:" was assigned to SYS:Prefs/Presets/tbimages in my user-startup. I suppose that is the place AmigaOS uses by default? I do not remember from where that Sys:Classes/ToolbarImages/Default drawer has come... Probably I have installed some third party software package from OS-4 depot, and it has created a directory of its own, without adding a new assignment.Spectre660 wrote:You may need an Assign for TBImages: or copy the list_checkmark file to the TBImages: directory .
Anyway, I assigned TBImages: to both of these drawers, and DiskImageGUI works now ok!

Re: Problem with DiskImageGUI
...and now you have two dirs with images while only the one in Prefs will be updated...
Do as cha05e90 suggested and get AISS4.12...install it and get rid of the subdir in classes...you will spare yourself a lot of trouble in the future

No, I believe early versions of AISS used that path, and it was changed later to the one in Prefs/Presets.Gregor wrote:I do not remember from where that Sys:Classes/ToolbarImages/Default drawer has come... I scanned my partitions and found out that this 'ancient' AISS-drawer came obviously from the AmigaOS Update 5 (which is relatively new, though):nbache wrote:No, I believe early versions of AISS used that path, and it was changed later to the one in Prefs/Presets.Gregor wrote:I do not remember from where that Sys:Classes/ToolbarImages/Default drawer has come... Update 5/Files_NoArch/Classes/ToolbarImages/Default/list_checkmark
So, is there possibly a 'bug' in that update so that it does not place automatically those AISS modules included in the right place?

Interesting. Yes, that does look like a mistake.Gregor wrote:I scanned my partitions and found out that this 'ancient' AISS-drawer came obviously from the AmigaOS Update 5 (which is relatively new, though):

But I'm not sure when AISS changed to the newer path, and whether/how later AISS updates are handling that situation.

Re: Problem with DiskImageGUI
Gosh! You're right! As Niels already stated, this was indeed the *old* path to AISS (so the "tbimages:" assign pointed there). In later version the AISS compository was changed to "SYS:Prefs/Presets" and the assign to "tbimages:" was changed accordingly. So there must still some software looking for the "SYS:Classes/..." path. Nevertheless, AFAIK AISS still is located at "SYS:Prefs/Presets". In the end it's all a matter of the right assignment...Gregor wrote: Update 5/Files_NoArch/Classes/ToolbarImages/Default/list_checkmark

Re: Problem with DiskImageGUI
Or you could try something really silly like I do.
I use XADFileSysytem to mount a lha of the installed AISS as a TBimages: device. So far only 1 program has failed to work properly (ADRipper). for me the big benefit is when I regularly backup sys: there's only 1 6.5mb file to copy instead of 5830 small files which is a lot faster.
If you also assign T: to your harddrive there will be a TBimages drawer created in there that only contains the aiss images used on your system.
