Hi there.
I have an old 32MB-CF-Card for use with the CF-Slot on the X1000.
Trevor use a CF-Card on his X1000 to boot the amigaone.of file
My Gole is : Boot OS4.1 without a FFS Boot-partition because i want setup OS4.1 and Linux in 2 seperate HDDs (In a Sata ExchangerBay)
Here are my Questions:
How can i do this?
CFE setup with German keylayout ?
Setup a CF-Card to use it like Trevor does ?
Use a Sata2SDXC-Reader internaly for Testing alternate OS4.1 or Linux-Setups safe ? CFE and OS4.1 see a 64GB SDXC-Card inside but only with FFS2/JXFS i can Format the SDXC
And why have CFE not a GUI U-Boot have it ? U-Boot make the most settings easier as CFE.
Cheers Zappa2009

You can copy amigaboot.of to your CF card using a CF to USB adaptor.I have an old 32MB-CF-Card for use with the CF-Slot on the X1000.

Then insert it into the slot on NEMO while the power is OFF.
Setting up multiple boot choices is described in sys:documentation/X1000_CFE.pdf
on pages 4 through 6. These assume that your drive configuration stays the same.
Swapping drives might get confusing.
I see some CFE keyboard configurations on page 12, but I don't see anything about german keyboards. This may not be available in CFE.CFE setup with German keylayout ?

In addition to amigaboot.of, Linux can load kernel files from the CompactFlash card.
You can copy to your CF card using a CF to USB adaptor.
I have no experience with these, but since AmigaOS cannot see the CF slot on the NEMO board, it will not be useful for AmigaOS installations. At this time, only CFE and Linux can make use of the CF slot on the NEMO board.Use a Sata2SDXC-Reader internaly for Testing alternate OS4.1 or Linux-Setups safe ? CFE and OS4.1 see a 64GB SDXC-Card inside but only with FFS2/JXFS i can Format the SDXC
Also, For CFE or Linux to make use of an inserted card, it must use a format that they understand. That includes FFS and FAT, but JXFS is far less likely to work there.
Re: Some Questions. CFE CF-card Sata2SDXC-Reader
Done
amigaboot.of the CF Works
(Must use Gparted to format it to FAT32 an set the Boot-Flag)
Can now boot without a FFS2-Loader Partition.
And USB-Boot is also work. (Use the Kickstart on the default Boot-Partition but Assign shows me USB-OS4 is the System)
Tricky
So much different then U-Boot on the A1-XE
Sata2SD or IDE2CF Reader works only in my A1-XE. And there only with FFS2 or JXFS can it be formated ! With SFS and SFS2 it always unreadable/unformated
I think the Problem is that new SD and CF Cards indentifiy as "removeable Hard-Disk"
Ty for you help
