AmIRC stopped working with update 5 - MUI problem?

Hi!

AmIRC http://www.amirc.org/ stopped working with update 5.
There are two problems:

1. When typing something in the normal chat string and hit Enter, nothing happens. The string does not seem to trigger any event. However, the topic string works! So I can emergency chat by changing topic...

2. When clicking in the list (the chat view) the mouse gets stuck. So marking text or clicking links doesn't work. It immediately goes into mark mode until RMB is clicked.

None of this has ever happened before until I installed update 5.

Hm...just tested AmIRC 3.13 with both my Sam and my Pegasos (AmigaOS 4 Update 5) and both worked fine, selecting and copying of text and typing messages worked ok. I were not able to confirm your findings. Maybe some kind of MUI setting (mine is untouched from the first day...)?

AmIRC 3.13 with AmigaOne XE G4/933 AOS4.1.5 - no problems.

Which version of AmIRC do you use? 68k?

Strange!
Both 3.13 (old OS4 beta) and the newest 68k v3.6.1 show the same problem for me. And I have also started more instances which means they get new untouched MUI prefs, but still the same issue, and only with the chat string and the list, and only in AmIRC.

YAM and all kinds of other MUI programs show no problem. Only AmIRC, all versions it seems.

With YAM you can check for newer MUI-Classes (and other), somewhere in the prefs. Have a try.

I'm always using the newest MUI classes that YAM offers.

Just had a look in MUI:libs/mui/ and compared to what update 5 includes. Seems quite a bit less. Now I have removed everything that wasn't part of update 5, except NClasses for YAM and stuff then...

Ok, have just started using my pre-installed X1000 with default MUI config and AmIRC is still not working
I have pretty much only copied in the few extra MUI libs that AmIRC needs to even start and it is not working.
All versions (old 68k, newest 68k, kind of old OS4 PPC beta) show the same behavior.

And I just heard that I'm not the only one who has this problem with AmIRC and update 5.

I have to make an arexx script to be able to chat with friends using shell, because arexx works, just the string gadget does nothing when I hit enter. And I can't click on anything in the list because the mouse just gets stuck in LMB mode. Very annoying update 5 bug.
