PTP window

Post by trixie »

I have a report to make about the Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) widow.

When I plug my camera to the USB port, the PTP window shows up, allowing me to select photos I want to download from the camera. It all works fine but there's a GUI bug I'd love to see fixed. After the PTP window opens, the "Download path" gadget is empty - which logicallly suggests there is no path set. Yet the "Start transfer" button works and indeed starts downloading the photos! Where? By inspecting you'll find that the files have been downloaded into RAM: so clearly a default setting exists but the GUI does not show it.

The solution is to put RAM: in the path gadget to indicate there is a default.

Confirmed. I have opened Bugzilla entry no. 8009 for this. Thanks for reporting!
