Welcome to the club ktadd, hope you enjoy the improved performance over the micro, like me. :-D
I will keep my micro running, nice to have another system running in tangent with the x1000 for different tasks.

@all

Thanks for all the nice welcomes.
Just about have everything setup the way I like it and it seems very stable so far asside from the version of SimpleMail that comes bundled with the system. v.38 is very unstable and kept locking up on exit. It was unstable on my uA1 as well so it doesn't appear to be an X1000 thing. It might be better to include v.36 instead of v.38 of SimpleMail with the X1000.

@ktadd,

Welcome to these forums and specially welcome to the small group of people who saw the unique value in the X1000 and have purchased one like you. Also thanks for the tips about SimpleMail. I have not yet experienced any problems with mine though, but I don't use it too often, so maybe I will see more stability problems with it in the future, as I use it more often. Unfortunately, I can only use my X1000 rarely, due to my back problems and inability to walk, or sit in a chair most days over the last few months.

If you don't mind me asking, are you one of the last of the "First Contact" X1000 first production run buyers to receive his X1000, or are you one of the first buyers from the second production run to receive his X1000 system?

I am just curious to know if any of the second production run buyers have begun to receive their X1000 systems, as there has been no recent discussion that I have seen regarding the status of the second production run of X1000's.

If anyone has seen and discussions anywhere that I probably have missed, please provide a link to that discussion, or if the discussion is on Amiga.org, please just copy and paste the important parts of the discussion, as I have stopped visiting Amiga.org and asked them to delete my account there (I have had all I can take of their policies and some members behavior).

I looked on AmigaKit's website and could not find any current information, which I think is a mistake. Amiga users that wish to talk about this new Amiga computer need to be able to refer people they are talking to, to a website with some current information and sadly, AmigaKit and A-Eon are not providing any information. I can't even find out if AmigaKit is still accepting more orders for the second production run, or if the second production run has sold out already, like the first production run did in less than two days time. I hope they are sold out again, as that shows a continued strong interest in the X1000 and means that there is a strong chance that there will be a third production run and maybe a fourth production run.

For the top of the line AmigaOS4.x computer system that is finally becoming available to the general public, it is far too quiet. Much more information and promotion was done over a year ago than is being done now and that just does not seem right in my mind's eye.

Whether or not you count that as "current" is up to you!

Add another one to the count. :-) My black AmigaOne X1000 was just delivered to my home in Mobile, Alabama after a speedy trip from UK across the Atlantic to the big FedEx hub in Memphis.

I can't wait to get home from work, but alas that's a few hours away. Stand by for the newbie questions!
