I installed the AmigaOne X1000 First Contact AmigaOS Update but curious once the system rebooted after the double click of the installer icon, how do I tell if the update did update?

Faith my lad faith
no?
Like any update there is going to be times when you won't actually notice anything significant because it doesn't add functionality (or similair) to anything you personally are waiting for
An update is released once it has been severely tested and then also covers actual installation, just because you can't measure it doesn't mean there isn't lots happening
It's a strange question to tell the truth, I know you're only interested but like I said, in this instance faith would probably do

No, what I am asking is, not that I will see or feel something new, but is there some firmware file or something one can check that now shows 1.1 instead if 1.0 or something.
Just wanting to confirm the update took is all and not that my X1000 can now fly.

Well, the update does print out a notice telling you it was installed. If something goes wrong it will tell you. I really thought that was enough.amigasociety wrote:I installed the AmigaOne X1000 First Contact AmigaOS Update but curious once the system rebooted after the double click of the installer icon, how do I tell if the update did update?

Re: How to confirm X1000 Update worked
Sorry, the only message I remember seeing was that in order for the update to be installed, I had to reboot. I don't remember it saying the update was successful.ssolie wrote:Well, the update does print out a notice telling you it was installed. If something goes wrong it will tell you. I guess what I was thinking was I needed to reboot and then double click the installer again for it to install properly and then work. I took the first message as a reminder to do that I guess. Then starting thinking after the reboot, did that mean reboot and the install takes affect and I will then see a message it was "successful" or to double click the installer only after booting fresh, then double click the installer for it to work, like it wanted to make sure no apps or something else was running during the install of the app so that is why reboot first.
Did it actually say "Install Successful" after my double click? I guess I am getting old or too busy with working at the same time to see it.

Guess I was having a senior moment or a little alzheimers thinking "did I forget to double click it".

In the end, update went perfect.

Type idetool -l sb600sata.device in a shell, the drive should be running "current 70 (UDMA 6, 133 MB/s)" after the update.

Yes, I remember seeing a notice that said the update had been installed, right after I ran it. My memory is not that good, so I can't give you the exact text the motice printed out, but it did confirm that the update was successful.ssolie wrote:Well, the update does print out a notice telling you it was installed. That is what I get when I try to help customers on the phone with tech issues and doing an update at the same time. I just overlooked it is all being busy I guess.
