Re: AmigaOS 4.1 final edition?
well, we actually don't know the real costs, how many CDs were printed, how many were sold, how many were given bundled with motherboards, etc. You don't need to know, just do the math. Take a number, let's say we're optimistic and say 10000. Multiply that by the amount that Hyperion gets per copy,...

Re: AmigaOS 4.1 final edition?
then, why not just keep offering free updates with amiupdate? or offering the updates to be downloaded as an .iso image, free for registered users, as it was before? Because it costs money to pay someone to work on AmigaOS, and we got to make a living off something? The last time we asked money was...

Re: Anti-aliased drawing functions
Not likely to happen any time soon I'm afraid. There is a considerable overhead required for that, and things like Cairo or AGG work very different from how graphics library drawing works (path rasterization vs. traditional hardware line drawing). A possibility would be to update cairo to support a ...

Re: video ram in 4.0 vs 4.1.6
so in the end I loaded pictures of space from hubblesite.org, 67mb, 40mb and 27mb. You were right, the board uses only 128MB of video ram, I get maximum 87mb of used video ram, and the normal ram is filled a lot, I reached having only 9mb of free ram, then,if I load another picture, the system lock...

Re: video ram in 4.0 vs 4.1.6
Now I read 256MB of ram. As I said, this has zero relevance. The only thing that matters if it is straight 256 MB or the segmented, multi-function one. The old driver didn't check for that, and filling up the memory will almost guaranteed lock up your system. If you insist on going on with this, th...

Re: video ram in 4.0 vs 4.1.6
A 256 MB Radeon might come in two variants. If there is a secondary function on the board (i.e Ranger will report a second board with 128 megabytes of memory) then this card will not work no matter what the system reports. Even if the old drivers show 256 MB, it is very likely that if video memory u...

Re: Hot or not
After shuddering at the Fahrenheit scale and converting it to a good one (Celsius), I can tell you that these temperatures are actually quite cool. IIRC the PA6T can go up to 120 degrees Celsius (248F), so you should be fine.
