Onboard ethernet of X5000

At what stage is the support for onboard ethernet of X5000...? For AmigaOS there has been driver for a while, and MorphOS should also have it now with 3.12 update.

I would very much like to free the legacy PCI slot, occupied currently by a RTL8039, for another card...

Unfortunately the onboard ethernet isn't supported currently. We are looking for someone who can fix the issue with the onboard ethernet. The A1222 and the X1000 have support for their onboard ethernet.

To get rid of the PCI adapter you could use a USB to Ethernet adapter for just linux. Thats what i did for now.
I am using ASIX AX88772B USB 2.0 Ethernet,

What is your output of dmesg | grep eth ? mine is..

I would prefer some 'internal' solution... Do PCIe ethernet boards generally work with our Linux distros?

I have used this adapter before the OS4.1 driver for the onboard X5000 adapter became available.. Also works with linux.
