DVPlayer crashes

Hello. Back again. :-)

I have collected two seperate reports for DvPlayer crashes. I understand that DvPlayer is a third party shareware utility but as DvPlayer SE is included with the OS and this is what I am using thought I should at least report it here.

Here is the outlines:

1.) Crashes while trying open a file while an MPEG2 stream was playing.

I was playing off a DVD and tried to open a file. It crashed. Of course it makes sense to stop it first but I expected DvPlayer to halt it. The result:
:
Crash log for task "DvPlayer AsyncIO Task"

Type of crash: DSI (Data Storage Interrupt) exception

2. Crashes while playing mp3 file.

This is very easy to reproduce. Just load an mp3 file and start playing. After a while it will crash. It is recoverable and the music can go on. :-)

Note that I did have some 320Kbps mp3s but I don't know if that matters. Result:

You are right in saying that it's a third party contribution so you would be well advised to send them to the author as well.

Makeing a note of them here does no harm I suppose but there no guarantee any action will be taken on them, or that they will be seen by the relavant person.

In actual fact, it doesn't look like Stephen Felner is a member here, so he'll never see any bug reports for DvPlayer. Send them to him directly.

Hello,

Have you tried to reproduce your problem with dvdvcd.plugin 51.2 (from the original DVplayer registered version) ?

I have this kind of crash Number1 with dvdvcb.plugin 51.4. When I insert A DVD and use open DVD/CD before completely recognized by the system.

I think your time is better spent emailing the author directly instead of hoping he reads it in a web forum.
