On the AmigaOne it worked. On the X1000 is doesn't. Why?

I plugged my camera cable into lower left USB port (facing the rear of the X1000) and I get the usual window recognizing the device which goes away after about 5 seconds, but no icon ever appears. And the INFO command shows no device.
