Hi All,
Julian had a great idea! He successfully installed the latest Firefox ESR
52.5.2esr-1 from the old Debian 8 on ubuntu MATE 16.04.3 LTS today!

He doesn't need the setting 'network.http.spdy.enabled.http2 false' in 'about:config'.
Download:
firefox-esr_52.5.2esr-1~deb8u1_powerpc.deb
@Julian
Many thanks for this great idea!
Cheers,
Christian

This is somewhat my fault a little as I instigated this on the Debian mailing list. I went bug hunting to see why it was crashing. The simple fix was found to simply disable RLBox since WASM has endian issues. So working around it for now. Other s390x patches were also brought in.
But here's something real funny. I got it working on Ubuntu Precise! LOL!
Okay I slightly cheated as I used a chroot to do it. But it works really well as a fast VM! Look at those Assets.
I had to initially run it in safe mode and then tell it to reset the profile.
