Attached are the logs from xorg. Log 1 is the second alpha without DRM, Log 0 is for Alpha 3 (noting I didn't load kernel modules). Sorry can't figure how to attach separately as files as whatever extension I use is rejected and they are too large to copy and paste.

Hi Ace,

Thank you for the log files. I have read them carefully. There are some errors in the Xorg log with the alpha2-2 without DRM updates but your Radeon Firepro 2260 works with the alpha2-2. Your Radeon Firepro 2260 is the first configured card with the alpha2-2. With the alpha3 the Radeon HD7750 is the first card. But it doesn’t make any sense to configure the Firepro as the first card because it also doesn’t work without the Radeon HD7750 card.

Cheers,
Christian

If you want to remove the latest DRM updates for the ATI FireMV 2250 and ATI FirePro 2260 from the latest Git kernel, then run the following commands:

Code: Select all

git revert 7e59fad9c9d1aeacdc96dfffd35f9e12ddc34dbf -m 1

Code: Select all

git revert 4971f090aa7f6ce5daa094ce4334f6618f93a7eb -m 1

Many thanks for testing! :-) Unfortunately we still haven’t any error messages for the developers.

Ace,

Could you please test the Firepro alone in another slot of your X5000? Could you also post the whole output of dmesg with the alphas which have the DRM updates?

Thanks,
Christian

Do you mean alone as in

1. No other cards in MCI slots
2. With SI card removed but other cards in slots (trouble is I need those other cards, sil and eth)

If the latter I already tried with the SI card removed but the Firepro would not be initisated at all so all I got was a black screen, ie no X5000 boot page.

Happy New Year to you and all the other developers.

Happy New Year to you too. :-)

I meant, removing the SI card and installing the Firepro in the PCIe 16x slot.

Hi Ace,

I reported the issue on the amd-gfx mailing list yesterday.

Link: ATI FirePro 2260 doesn't work after the update 'drm-next-2018-12-14'
