Note: Please buy a USB2 stick. I had some boot problems with USB3 sticks. I recommend a 64GB Sandisk USB2 stick.

I'm remembering Trusty Tahr.
Will any of the four versions of 16.04 that are now ready for download work on an AmigaOne X1000?

You can update your installed ubuntu MATE 16.04 to the final version with the following commands:

Of course, System>Admin>Software Updater then select [Partial Upgrade] works. It worked well for me. Verified with "sudo apt-get" after using Software Updater!

Wow! Stuff kept coming for a couple hours! Then left me with a screen with a big Ubuntu (MATE?) logo half off screen on the right and no cursor arrow or anything. I was very worried, but when I did a cold reboot it came up OK.

I was looking through the Welcome thing, and under Getting Started I found Language & [Shift^6, that & is!] Input, and thought that at last I would be able to get Japanese input set up, but when I clicked on Japanese, "Package fcitx-mozc isn't available." Clicked on Korean and that one seemed to work, except it brought a lot of .exe files like it thought I was Windows or something. I haven't checked to see if I really can write Korean yet.

Bevor i update to 16.04-Final i can setup an VPN-Connection with Strongswan (IPsec/l2tp) with the network-manager.
After the Update it`s gone. Later i found out on with google this is an Bug.

The Upgrade went extremely smooth. Been using Ubuntu Mate 16.04 all weekend and received 1 Security and 1 Welcome Update today. It is quite stable and everything is working great. All the hard work paid off. Running stable and great on AmigaOne X1000 kernel - 4.1.20 Radeon 6670 HD. Just wanted to post a positive result on the new release. Amazing!

Could you please test the RC5 of Kernel 4.6? I cross compiled it yesterday and I don't know if it boots.

When can we expect some smooth boot DVD or Initrd RAM disk install that works out of charm
for 16.04 final MATE X1000 Radeon 6870HD
