Many thanks for testing.
I have an issue with alpha 4. It boots to a shell only so seems to have a graphic driver issue at my end. The alpha 5 is out now so I'll try that next.

Well, will try it soon. I managed to wreck my boot menu last night. Will need to fix that ASAP.
Sometimes my X1000 cannot be switched off regardless of the kernel version.
Must be common in a rare kind of way. Reminds me of the A1 Linux kernel which couldn't shut down because the XE had no working power management. :-D

I tested the alpha5 of kernel 6.14 with Void PPC and with openSUSE Tumbleweed PPC64 on my X1000 today.

It works with my VAPOR-X Radeon HD5870 without any problems.

Today, I tested the alpha4 of kernel 6.14 with Void PPC. There aren't any issues with the graphics card.

The merge window is over. Linus Torvalds has released the RC1 of kernel 6.14 for testing.

I compiled it for our machines today.

I tested the alpha 4 again and this time it booted to desktop. Whatever that was about. However, I cannot get any browsers to work like Arctic Fox or SeaLion. So there is some fault there. Nothing showed up in dmesg so need to look deeper for a log.

So I booted up from the 6.12 stable kernel which has been solid. But the menu bar kept opening and closing. In dmesg log caja just kept crashing. Worse than usual and was making the system unusable. So I just jumped into a shell and removed caja. It removed a heap of other related items. But it was just too unstable. I tried to add it back in. But I got this strange error. On top of my system not being able to install caja depends, which was ridiculous, since I had just been running it.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
caja : Depends: libcaja-extension1 (= 1.26.3-1) but 1.26.1-1 is to be installed

Now I had a wicked system! I thought I had totally wrecked it. With the Fienix servers now being in a worse state than last year. But I was able to reboot it with the alpha 4. The backdrop was missing but everything else like the menu works fine so don't know what "Crashing Caja" is needed for. Oh, just looked, I have no desktop icons.Well now I'm running with alpha 5. Working fine apart from above hiccups. RC1 installed and ready to go! :-P
