You are welcome, my dear friend :) By the way, if you want to, you could have multi-boot feature on your system. Say, booting into AmigaOS 4.1 Update 6 and AmigaOS 4.1 Final. In that way, you shouldn't loose anything, and can easily compare the two.

I could have done that, but of course as i was eager to run AmigaOS 4.1 Final, i didn't go for multi-boot.

Some small features are still missing in AmigaOS 4.1 Final, which are present in AmigaOS 4.1 Update 6, but seeing that Hyperion were focusing on implementing most of the most important features, so the small missing features like a Preference for the Context Menus and such, are coming.

As for the 68k version of OctaMED SoundStudio, which is the topic here. Yes, it can cause a freeze of the system, but then again the PPC AmigaOS4 version is on the way :)

"you could have multi-boot feature on your system"

Yes, yes, I have 2 bootables OS partitions (default = OS 4.1.6 ;) )

I have three:
- AmigaOS 4.1 Final
- AmigaOS 4.1 Update 6
- AmigaOS 4.1 Beta

A longer term solution but apparently A-Eon are looking to take OctaMED over and upgrade it.

I'm hoping this come to pass as the lack of MIDI when using the 68k version on OS4 rendered it mostly useless for me anyway.

Probably none.

He probably had some third party stuff installed from years ago and now claims it to be part of the OS (and been dropped with FE) or wants the functionality of said stuff to be implemented by yesterday...(thats my opinion of his history of posts)

Plus he still doesn't seem to get the concept of a maturing AmigaOS sacrificing outdated and obsolete 68k stuff for more stability and features.

It was based on a theory i had when i was still waiting for a way to set up some Context Menus for tools like AttachMail, FlipPaper and such. It appeared i was wrong, so sorry about that. Everything fine now.

MUI4 is part of AmigaOS4, as it is bundled with it. Like i explained. MUI4 is an alternative GUI, yes, but part of the AmigaOS4 package now and present in AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition. As you have seen for yourself, many applications are based on MUI. We see that in AttachMail, FlipPaper, Jack, SysMon, Odyssey, YAM and several other applications.

And i do understand the nature of an OS modernizing itself, and some sacrifice of compatibility appears natural. I do understand that. That's why i came to that conclusion of compatbility issue with some applications. And i am sure that in AmigaOS 4.2, more will be sacrified in term of compatibility with very old 68k stuffs. Natural? Yes, of course it is when an OS is modernizing.

And you thought i didn't understand that? I did understand that. It's not hard to understand even for a normal user. Don't have to be a programmer or developer to understand such an easy logic.
