Is it running purely software emulated on an Intel based machine,
software emulated on a PowerPC,

I have tried installing Ubuntu MATE 16.04 using your latest ISO on my Sam460ex.

My PCIGraphics.card is v53.9 (20 Jul 2014, 80.380 bytes), so that's might be the origin of the problem I encounter.

What do you mean by saying "you may need to use the debug version to get useful info"?
There's a debug version of the driver. The file is RadeonHD.chip.debug, but you do need to make sure that it's the same version as your RadeonHD.chip driver (I'm not sure if that one gets automatically ...
