X5000 hardware and multiple-OS options

Hey guys, Previous X5000 owner here, and I'd intended to run AOS4/Linux/MorphOS on my computer but basically ragequit out of frustration due to the whole GPU issue. I'm kind of...getting the X5000 itch again :) I was hoping someone would be able to speak to some of my concerns here. Essentially, I h...

X5000 hard drive swap

Hi guys, I recently bought a larger hard drive so I can triple boot my X5000. I’d like to know how I can migrate my current OS4.1 installation on my existing hard drive to the new one. I know I could use both drives, but I prefer to consolidate to just one for now, so it’s unnecessary to recommend t...

Re: (X)(L)ubuntu (MATE) 17.04 Zesty Zapus

What GPUs does this build of mesa work with? I have the Radeon 7750 - is this fully supported? No, it isn't fully supported. You can boot the MATE PowerPC Remix 2017 0.9 and work with it but it doesn't have support for hardware 3D acceleration with your Radeon 7750. You need a Radeon HD6xxx or lowe...

Re: X5000 Proven to Work Hardware List

Regarding keyboards, I'd also avoid KVM USB switches, and Apple keyboards.

Behavior for me is inability to get the u-boot boot selection menu, frequent lockups (unrelated?), and failure for the computer to maintain time, even when a battery is installed.

Re: Early startup menu?

That's a good idea, I can probably try plugging in an old USB keyboard (no frills, no special keys or anything) and using it for bootup purposes. I'll give that a shot!

Re: Date & Time will not stay

Stepping back a bit - I could have sworn someone mentioned this was an issue with KVM switch and/or certain USB keyboards. If that's the case, and we consider that to be a defect, that would mean _all_ of these boards are defective, no?

Re: Early startup menu?

Ah, bummer. I guess I'll see if I can file a bug somewhere that is particular to u-boot, in that case. I live in a very tiny space, multiple keyboards are not an option for me, so I guess using multiple OSes on my X5000 is also not an option. :?

Re: Early startup menu?

Does anyone know where X5000 bugs should be filed?
