As known to us all. 2GB RAM is the maximum level of RAM AmigaOS4 actually supports.
Seeing that so many new Amiga programs are more power and memory hungry, it easily becomes a limitation in AmigaOS4 when working on many heavy operations at the same time.
There is another way to improve ...

Re: Overcoming the 2GB RAM limitation
An extra 1GB of ram is a lot of memory and can make a difference.

Re: Overcoming the 2GB RAM limitation
reading non amiga forums some user(s) are using 2GB + 1GB = 3GB total if more than one memory slot is present.

Re: SAM 460EX frequently freeze
Not sure if it possible but perhaps if OS4.x can read the SPD on memory module this may help other users avoided memory module that don't work to well with this computer. It will also help all NG amiga(s).

Re: SAM 460EX frequently freeze
I have just received G.SKILL FS-6400CL5S-2GBSK for my notebook. This type of memory is a little unusual that it has a built-in heat spreader. Module is dated MAY 2014,manufactured only last month.
There are not many DDR2 SODIMM that have heat spreader, its more reserved for DDR3.

Re: 1Go of RAM on MicroAone
I am not 100% sure of this because I don't own any of this type of computer. I think the problem could be the loading affect on each module. There is also a set-up time, this is why it is recommended to get faster memory module than your bus speed.

Re: 1Go of RAM on MicroAone
I think 1GB with 133Mhz FSB maybe possible. You may need PC150 SDRAM in-order for this to work, but would expected a very small number of 1GB PC133 to work.
It maybe a good idea to know what make/type of memory other user(s) are using.
I will be looking at SDRAM,DDRx performance hopefully in the ...

Re: Understanding and Optimization of OS 4.1 for Classics
I suppose you don't want to elaborate.
Here is screenshot for the very last time, ignore ram speed for now as I thing the speed of EDO dram may not be needed. its possible slower EDO memory may work (to be confirmed).
Video bus speed in screenshot is also incorrect. ..ignore.

Re: Understanding and Optimization of OS 4.1 for Classics
In addition to the slow IDE (vs UWSCSI on the CSPPC up to 35 MB/s), the BPPC's fast memory access is not the same as the CSPPC (32-bit vs 64-bit) and despite the high clock rates of the 603e, the platform is not as robust as the 604e.
