Harddisk at the PATA-IDE connection

First at all, sorry for my english. It's not my favorite language. Now my question.
Is it possible to use an additional Harddisk at the PATA-connection ? I've try it, but it
doesn't work. It is an HD from my older A1-XE and there are many, many data on it (500 GB).
I would like to use them now in my new X1000, but i don't want to transfer them with
an external USB-drive, because of the USB-problems with the A1-XE.

Not until the driver is released...
The easiest way to do it without the driver is to keep the drive in the XE and use
http://aminet.net/comm/tcp/rc-ftpd.lha as a server and
http://www.os4depot.net/share/network/ftp/ftpmount.lha on your X1000 then use workbench or dopus etc to copy the files over.

if you get any problems using ftpmount have a go with pftp which is an extra on your install cd.

Does the FTPMount solution keep file dates and attributes? If not, a better solution might be good old AmigaNetFS (found as NetFS.lha on Aminet).
Best regards,

@ Severin
So we can currently use PATA IDE DVD drives but not PATA IDE hard drives?
I am a little surprised as I am happily using my PATA IDE DVD drive to boot into OS4 from CFE and also to read from within OS4.

As a betatester you have access to and will have installed the latest IDE PATA drivers which support full UDMA transfer speeds. I have an 80GB hdd attached to the PATA port which I use for Data storage (under AmigaOS 4) and a Debian Squeeze test partition.
The PATA IDE drivers along with other updated drivers will be released to AmigaOne X1000 "First Contact" owners in due course.

I do need to get one that one...
We have drivers for the PATA port and serial port now. The PATA driver seems fine and the serial driver is just working it's way through beta testing. More drivers are on the way.

Please note that this is the PUBLIC X1000 forum, not the private Beta X1000 forum.

I was surprised to read that the "First Contact" buyers did not get a driver for the PATA port. I probably should have researched it closer before, because I thought that the only drivers that were not completed for the X1000 at this point in time were the onboard Sound and Ethernet port drivers. I later learned about the CF slot driver not being completed, and now today I learn that the PATA port driver has not yet been released to the First Contact buyers.
I am not upset, because my X1000 system is working and I can run AmigaOS4.1.5 on it, but it makes me wonder what else is not supported on the Nemo2 motherboard while running OS4.1.5 and how long it is going to take before we see all ports and components of this system supported under OS4.1.5? It is my hope that all these drivers will be completed soon and released to all buyers of the X1000, because I want the Hyperion developers to have time available for them to work on porting the XMOS tools to OS4.1.x, or OS4.2 in the not too distant future.
We don't want these drivers and XMOS tools to take years to be completed and provided to users of the X1000, as that will hurt future sales for both A-Eon and Hyperion, and I don't want that to happen. I wish there were some way I could help. Is it possible to set up a silent X1000 owners only bounty to have some of the Varisys, or XMOS engineers port all of their XMOS tools to OS4.1.x, or OS4.2? If it were set up as a public bounty that everyone knows about, there will be some criticism of this and negative publicity from non-OS4.x users, who love to beat down on Hyperion and A-Eon.
I would be willing to donate toward such a bounty to get XMOS engineers to port all the tools needed to allow programming of the XMOS chip from OS4.1.x.
