WipeOut 2097 broken with Update 4

WipeOut 2097 just don't work anymore with Update 4

It crash at startup now

From stack-trace i see that its powerpc.library which borks, what mean that is mostly powerpc.library should be fixed. Imho we as users have 2 ways:

1. Ask Joerg for open-source his powerpc.library sources , put them on google-pages, and anyone can fix it (or at least try to fix it), and add all the hacks/workorounds for all the warpos/warp3d game/demo.

2. Write new version of powerpc.library (opensource as well).

Because as i understand Joerg are not working on os4 (can be wrong, but i think is it), or even if he is, he not in interet to worring about powerpc.library anymore.

Some time ago i asked him about that bit he refuse to make it opensource, i'm also not sure if we can be able to make such WOS games working just fixing the library ...
But still would be great to try, and of course mutch less stressing than try to disassembling any single games/demos etc ...

Maybe you can try again, and ask how much he want for making it opensource ?

i'm also not sure if we can be able to make such WOS games working just fixing the library ..

Imho crash with wipeout on update4, are exactly because powerpc.library should be fixed (not the game itself, as it works on update3). Something was changed in kernel looks like, and powerpc.library just not follow to new changes and fail to handle something correctly now (so should be updated)

It's still working on my Micro AmigaOne with update 4, I just tested it, other than the big square shadows everything is fine.

Yep however when i ask Karlos he explain that it's not so easy as we speak, maybe even rewriting the library we still in problems

I'm with you aniway, if Alfkil wants an attempt to rewrite that lib could be done, maybe with the help of Karlos and others expert guys

I have no problem here with Update4 together with WipeOut 2097.
Works fine on my Aone XE G4.

I plug my WipeOut CD inside my CDRom and start my old installation on Harddisk.
Wipeout Setup starts.
I choose the screenmode..... press play and it works....

In my Wipeout2097 icon is stack 100000.

Yep this game work more or less fine on AmigaOne but it never work on Sam machines or --> it never work without problems in general.
On my Sam with update 1, 2 and 3 i got only freeze, freeze and DSI/ISI errors, so during the time i reported my problem here (with all possible details) but it was completely useless at the end cause now the game does not work at all ...

So i give up ..

New WipeOut 2097 test using AmigaOS 4.1 Update 6 (SamFlex 800 + Radeon 9250)

Game start but freeze still as usual (after a while), and sometime it crash with ISI aswell

@samo you can use FPSE with Wipeout.
I play it here on my X1000 with an original Playstation wireless pad.
It is very smooth and really fast, makes a lot of fun
