I have been using my fienix6 for several days now. Today I used Void first for a while (tried to install the new browser) then rebooted to "run fienix6." Everything seemed fine until I got to the login screen. Then neither the keyboard nor the mouse would function. I restarted the machine and tried again with the same result.

Then I tried my other two fienix installations and both got me promptly to a login screen and then refused to let me use the mouse or keyboard!

Worried, I tried AmigaOS4. No real problems noted (but Amiga is something else I am going to have to learn all over again. I kept getting a memacs screen that I couldn't get rid of and I had to use the button on the box to log out!).

Happily "run void" still works (here I am), but it doesn't boot well. Much time spent reading device descriptors and getting error -110. The devices are apparently "high speed usb devices" 7, 8, and 9.

I give up! I had reached that no keyboard, no mouse page at least eight times before I gave up and used Void to get a bunch of stuff done. I decided to try fienix6 one more time before shutting the machine down and this time it came up quickly again like before but this time it let me log in!!!!

Do you have all the kernel modules installed for the running kernel? When ever mouse and keyboard has gone dead for me it was due to missing modules. However for a normally working system this wouldn't be the case.

But... I read some about USB errors. If your cables are fully plugged in you may have power issues. Do you have many USB devices plugged in? Mouse and keyboard would be minimum and if the X5000 is like the others it has a special USB keyboard port.

So I've read the device descriptors error -110 is a timeout issue that is commonly caused by power overload. It can suddenly occur in a normally working system. Or even from a kernel change. Solutions range from unplugging USB devices and power from computer for five minutes to replacing USB devices. If devices 7, 9 and 9 are extra devices you may need to remove them. Or remove what's isn't needed.
