Thanks.
Will see if I can track down my issue.
Seems to manifest with removable devices like USB drives .
Will see if it can get a hard drive partition to mount and format.

NGFS partitions just won't mount with my Update 2 configuration.
They will when booting from an Update 1 USB drive .

I had so many problems with NGFS, even with Update 1, that I definitely wouldn't go back to it again. Since I formatted all my disks in SFS2, I can finally work quietly on my AmigaOne x5000. Still, I insisted, ran NGFCHECK to repair, often unsuccessfully, reformatted, reinstalled, etc. ...for years !

On SFS2, I NEVER have any problems.
The NGFS documentation is very informative. We learn that the file system is actually experimental and not as secure as SFS2. If I had read this document, I probably wouldn't have opted for NGFS and wouldn't have been so annoyed.

When you have created a new partition on your disk, which is destined to use NGF, then FIRST choose ANY other FS available for that partition, save the entry, reboot, format the partition, start 'MediaToolbox' again, change DosType for the partition to NGF1, save, reformat the partition (again) and Bob's your uncle!
Agreed that it's complicated, but hey! we're talking Amiga, don't we?

In the past 1.1/2 year I've had some serious troubles with NGF. I've had some issues with DOS/7 and even some partitions are now broken where they use SFS/2. Conclusion: every FS may give you troubles. I ust hasten to say that I've reverted to SFS/0 even and, fingers crossed, so far I've not been let down.
The author of NGF, Tony Wyatt, went out of his way to get my issues sorted out and I was able to reclaim most of the lost data, if not all!

What is that commodity You use for partition info? It's not standard RAWBInfo, is it?

Probably not going to work for me.
I booted using FE Update 1.
Created the NGFS partition
Rebooted using FE Update 1.
Formatted the NGFS partition ok.
Rebooted using FE Update 2 .
NGFS partition won't mount .

Note that there seems to be a typo above. You shouldn't
change DosType for the partition to NGF1
(unless you're using the latest betas).
Otherwise the DosType should be NGF\00 (or in hex 4E474600).
BTW: Are you sure you have the NGFileSystem active in your Kicklayout?
Best regards,
