3.1.4 Boot

I prepared a scsi2sd v6 for a 64GB card. This card's drive configuration comes up as ~60GB. (This is close to the 64,000,000,000 bytes from card). With HDToolBox 3.1.4, I partitioned into a 1GB for "Workbench" and 59GB for a Work volume.

The issue I'm facing is the boot time. It can be more than 1 minute for Workbench to come up. If I lower the partition from 59GB to something way lower, like 2-3GB it works just fine for boot time (in seconds). There may be something more than 3GB that would work as well but haven't found what is causing. Also, I have noticed that "Quick Format" of a 59GB takes a long time (minutes) versus seconds for small GB volumes.

Hi,

Repartition your drive using a file system block size of 4096.

I am confident this will solve your speed issues on big partitions.

Yes, that fixed it! Thanks.
