Notify-Pop up rounded edges not working and localisation bug

hello,
I wanted to make "rounded edges" working for the pop-up messages, I can choose this option, but it does not have any effect.
Changing color and position, works!
I am running 4.1FE classic in emulation, germany language settings and some letters, like "Ü,Ä,Ö" etc. are not displayed correctly in the pop-ups/notifier.
Anything, I can do about it?

This will not work if the graphic card (or the driver) does not support alpha-blending (aka compositing).
germany language settings and some letters, like "Ü,Ä,Ö" etc. are not displayed correctly
Is "german" or "german ISO-8859-15" selected as keyboard layout in Prefs/Input?

yes, I´ve made sure that both settings are "german".
Ok, the rounded edge issue will be because of emulated uaegfx-card, which has no composite-capabilities then, I guess.

Compositing works with UAEgfx driver. I use it with WinUAE.
Did you enabled it in Prefs/GUI/Effects ?

Awesome! Now it works - you´re right, I had to activate "effects" in GUI prefs
