Linux for x1000 with R7 250x (Update)

Hello!
I have seen that Ubuntu Remix is a no-go for me due to the Radeon R7 250X card. So, what would be a recommended Linux x1000 stable distro and Kernel to use on my system? Please let me know.
Cheers!!
John

Hi,
I have too a X1000 with a R7-250X, Ubuntu 16.04 / Kernel 4.4 works well (but no 3D slowdown the system)

Hi, again!
Thanks for the input. I was afraid of that. I bought a Radeon 6000 series card, however, I did not get graphics performance on the AOS4.1 side as with the R7 250x. I put the R7 250x back in and went DVI instead of HDMI. Well, it was worth asking. Maybe a linux will come along soon that can take full advantage of this configuration. That's the beauty of Linux, always morphing. Thank you.
Cheers!!

ok probably the linux driver is really premature for your video board ... many radeonhd are not working in the right way on linux ppc or are working only in some distros.
Eg RadeonHD have many problems with Debian Jessy and Wheezy because they upgrading the kernel very slowly in the distro ... ubuntu sons are much more updated.
Did you test with last kernel from Christian ? probably something will be better

Lets hope for the future

yes, look at 4.3 & 4.4 kernel threads, I tested all kernels updates...
Sorry jdupuis to have hijacked your thread

No worries
It's getting close to a year for me owning the X1000. Amiga 4.1 FE running great. I'm looking forward to Linux now. I've been looking here in Linux Only and keeping up with developing Kernels and latest successful installs. I'm a patient guy. That's how I've remained an Amigan for 23 + years. <Patience> an Amigan virtue.
Cheers!!

Hoping one of the next AmigaOS 4.1 FE updates is 100 Mbps Ethernet on the RT8139 card.

It seems the Kernels coming along for the R7 250x. When it's there - look out! Hopefully AOS4.2 will unlock the x1000 potentials as well. Well, a New Year is on the way. At least my x1000 is more powerful than my old A3000 I'm thankful.
Cheers!!
