Mate 1.8.1 (Gnome 2 fork) was released for Debian Sid PPC.

Ubuntu MATE is available for our AMIGA one X1000.

Could you give some hints to install it please ?
Download link, kernel required in the CF card, CFE command to boot initrd,etc.
Maybe that I will be more lucky than with the previous 14.10

If you have an installed (L)ubuntu 14.10 then you can install the MATE packages with apt-get or something like this. For the Ubuntu-MATE splash screen, artwork, icons, and themes you have to add the Ubuntu MATE PPA to the sources.list./etc/apt/sources.list

Hey Xeno.
The linked Iso is not installable.
The installation aborts with: disk detection failure.
I used a separate disk.
The only option is to install LUbuntu and then the MATE Desktop?
